LOCAL HEAD OF OFFICE for Flanders Investment and Trade

Required profile, experience and competences:
• University Degree: minimum Master level. A master in Economics is a plus but not a necessity.
• Minimum of 4 (four) years of relevant experience in an international and/or commercial environment.
• Thorough knowledge of Flanders and its main economic actors as well as of the mission duties of FIT.
• Thorough knowledge of Romania and the economic sectors offering business opportunities for Flemish
companies. A pro-active approach and a clear communication to end-users are expected.
• Excellent knowledge of English and Romanian, both in oral and written form. Knowledge of Dutch is a
plus.
• An existing multi-sectoral economic network within Romania is a plus.
• Ability to approach a wide variety of duties and challenges in a structured way, meet deadlines and
cooperate with colleagues from HQ and other foreign offices.
• A client-friendly, can-do, pro-active and outgoing personality, with excellent communication skills.
• Comfortable interacting with the ability to quickly forge professional relationships.
• Impeccable ethics.

Local Head of the office FIT Bucharest – a job description:
• The Local Head properly analyses the trade requests coming from Flemish companies and reacts in time
via modern IT-tools. The Local Head organizes individual business trips of Flemish companies to Romania
and sets up B2B-meetings, if required. Occasionally also group trade missions to Romania are organized
either for FIT or for third parties. Participation in relevant trade shows and attending network events.
• The Local Head pro-actively identifies economic sectors in Romania that present opportunities to Flemish
exporters, reports on these business opportunities and makes one market study p.a.. He/she is
knowledgeable about the home market’s regulations.
• The Local Head is knowledgeable about Romanian companies wanting to expand abroad and promotes
Flanders as an FDI location, with its specific advantages, to local companies. This implies lead generation
and follow up on potential investors through networking, pro-active prospection, cold-calling and
specialized press screening.
• The Local Head manages the office and the database, reports to HQ on relevant aspects (accountancy,
budget a.o.), has a representational function and co-operates with the Belgian Embassy, when necessary.
